This was going to be a solo project for James Van Way(co-founder of (the)Frames of Reference). The best laid plans…ended up involving friends and fellow musicians Dallas Griffith(drums) and Matt O’Neal(bass). Van Way helms guitar duties in addition to vocals and album producer J Burton(guitar) is the “fourth Marking”.
There was a recorded hard to find solo effort which could have triggered material for this band’s eponymous debut disc. The disc is a “good kind of sleeper”; it enters your musical conscience gently, then sticks with you. The impressive front cover abstract artwork was painted by Van Way.
